This large quilt is done in the classic 'Irish Chain' pattern. The low volumn background fabrics are some vintage finds from estate sales.
The reds are various pieces from my scrap collection. I took care to make no two red fabrics touch on the diagonal.
The straight-line quilting was done on the diagonal to mimic the diamond pattern of the fabrics.
The backing is a vintage floral sheet dating from the 1970's based on the look of it.
The binding is a solid buttery cornsilk yellow inspried by the striping in the background fabric.
